On November 26, the UM-Chamber Choir will perform the Michigan premiere of Jocelyn Hagen’s amazing multi-movement work, amass, and will record the work in the beginning of December. The UM-Chamber Choir has been a part of two Naxos Grammy award winning and nominated recording projects: Bolcom: Songs of Innocence and Experience and Milhaud: Oresteian Trilogy.  amass is a multi-movement work scored for SATB choir, STB soloists, cello solo, cello quartet, guitar and percussion trio.  The work explores the concept of interreligious harmony and uses the translations of spiritual poetry by Daniel Ladinsky from his book “Love Poems from God” which incorporates words of mystics and saints from various world religions and the traditional texts from the Roman Catholic mass.

Featuring:

Eugene Rogers, conductor

Caitlin Lynch, soprano soloist

Bernard Holcomb, tenor soloist

Jonathan Lasch, baritone soloist

Amir Eldan, solo cellist

Jonathan Ovalle, percussion trio director
