Jocelyn was commissioned in 2015 by the Sorel Organization to rearrange four movements from her oratorio amass for choir, vocal soloists and pianist Arlene Shrut. “Facets” from amass consists of:

  1. Use the Geometry
  2. Where All Are Welcome
  3. In My Soul
  4. Everything

This new work was created as part of an evening called “Requiem of Solace,” which features a new English translation of the Brahms Requiem, and will be performed in its 4-hand piano version. “Requiem of Solace” is the first product of Arlene Shrut’s Sustainable Symphony Project.

The UNC Charlotte Department of Music and The Steinway Piano Gallery of Charlotte present this exciting evening, which features the UNC Charlotte University Chorale and the Sine Nomine Vocal Ensemble, with Alissa Deeter (soprano), Dennis Jess (baritone), Renata Rohlfing (piano) and Arlene Shrut (piano).
